Bus Pass Update: Winter 2020 Refunds

June 30th, 2020 | The CSA and the CSA are happy to announce that Guelph Transit and City Council have agreed to our request for a pro-rated refund for your Winter 2020 bus pass fee and late night service fee. Student Financial Services has offered their support and will manage the refund process.

Tenancy During COVID-19

Due to COVID-19, the Ontario government has made temporary changes to residential rental processes.


Evictions:

In response to COVID-19, no eviction orders will be enforced, however tenant are still required to pay rent. If you receive a notice to end your tenancy, you do not have to move out and will have the right to a hearing with the Landlord and Tenant Board to explain your situation (ie, COVID-19).

April 16th, 2020 | The CSA has reached out to Guelph Transit to open discussions regarding a partial refund for our Winter 2020 students. Transit has assured us they will be fair with all clients. At this time, they are not able to address refunds, but I assure you they will open dialogue as soon as operationally possible.

CSA Mourning with UofG Community

The Central Student Association is mourning the loss of two University of Guelph graduate students killed in the tragic crash of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 near Tehran on January 8.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of these graduate students, the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, and the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, and all those impacted by this tremendous loss.

CSA Board to Appoint College Reps to Fill Vacancies

College Vacancies on CSA Board: The CSA Board of Directors has voted to initiate an appointment process to fill the vacancies for five at-large (elected) Board of Director positions that remain vacant following the CSA By-Election earlier this semester.

At full strength, the CSA Board includes two elected (at-large) and one appointed (student council / association) representative for each of the seven Colleges.
