Board of Directors Candidates
Yael Lazebnik – College of Biological Sciences Director
Hi, I’m Yael and I’m a Zoology major. I’ve always been passionate about advocating for students, even since high school, where I was a finalist for student trustee of my school board. In my free time, I volunteer at a kitten rescue, go to the gym, and immerse myself in cultural events. If elected to the CSA Board of Directors, I’ll work tirelessly to bridge the gap between CBS students and the CSA. My commitment is to always be available to listen to the concerns of overworked STEM students and represent our college effectively. Every student has the right to feel welcomed, heard, and equal on this campus. It’s essential that we foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity to truly cultivate an environment where all students thrive. Through student governance, we have the power to bring about lasting and meaningful change at Guelph - let me be your voice!
Haidi Wu – College of Biological Sciences Director
Hi, I’m Haidi! As a 5th year student completing a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences with a major in Ecology, I would be honoured to represent you on the CSA Board of Directors. I want to see a campus where all feel welcome and safe, and no voice is silenced or left out. I hope to foster this environment through sitting on the CSA Board. As a little background about me, I am an active volunteer in various clubs and initiatives dedicated to enhancing life for all on campus and supporting those who need it most. These include the Student Refugee Program run by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), as well as Food Insecurity Group Support (FIGS). As your Board representative, I would bring my passions for environmental stewardship and social justice to advocate for improvements to campus life that reflect our values of equity, sustainability and transparency.
