Monday, August 10th | Gabriel Broderick is a stand-up comedian and political staffer. Gabriel graduated from UofG in 2017 with a double major in Anthropology and Political Science. He will be chatting with us about the 2015 Black Lives Matter Movement on campus and how Post-Secondary Institutions can better meet the needs of Black students.
Tuesday, August 11th | Briana Green-Ince is the CSA liaison for the Guelph Black Students Association, entering her fifth year at UofG studying Psychology and Studio Art. She will be talking to us about the importance of creating safer spaces and challenging racism on campus. She is a big advocate for social justice and is excited to share her stories with us.
Wednesday, August 12th | Mechaela Alfonso is the Vice President of the Guelph Black Students Association, in her third year at UofG studying Psychology and Theatre Studies, hoping to pursue a career in Social Work post-graduation. Mechaela will be talking about the need for intersectional mental health supports, anti-Black racism in the classroom, and diversity on campus.
Thursday, August 13th | Chioma Nwebube is the President of the Guelph Black Students Association, in her third year at UofG studying Human Kinetics. She will be talking about the lack of supports offered to Black students, the institutional changes needed at UofG to challenge anti-Black racism, and how non-black students can show their solidarity with Black students.
