Please note that these results contain all verified and valid votes in the count. These results will be made official following the Board Meeting on October 30, 2024.

Board of Directors:

College of Biological Sciences: Quorum NOT Met

There were two candidates for the College of Biological Sciences Director position, Haidi Wu and Yael Lazebnik. A verified total of 213 votes were cast which accounts for 3.83% of CBS students. Therefore, this did not meet the required minimum of a 10% quorum. The results are as follows:

  • Haidi Wu (in favour of the candidate): 155 
  • Yael Lazebnik (in favour of the candidate): 117 
  • Decline: 7

The election has not met the required 10% quorum for the College of Biological Sciences (556 votes).

Quorum update for Thursday, October 17

We have received a total of 424 responses on the ballot. Currently, the verified number of votes from CBS students is 186 votes

Since there are 5557 students in CBS, we currently have a quorum of 3.35%

We will need 556 CBS students to vote to reach the requirement of a 10% quorum.

Voting has been extended and the polls will close on Friday, October 18, at 11:59pm. Cast your ballot today!

All-Candidate’s Forum

The All-Candidate’s Forum is a chance for undergraduate students to learn more about the candidates in the election and ask them questions about the key issues impacting students and their plans should they be elected. The Forum is scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2024 at 5pm in the UC Courtyard. Students can submit questions to the candidates ahead of the Forum using this Microsoft Forms link. The deadline to submit questions in advance of the Forum is Sunday, October 6, at 11:59pm.

For the Fall 2024 By-Election, the CSA will be holding hybrid in-person polling stations in locations on campus where students can find out more information about the election and how to vote. The full list of locations can be found below.
