Breakfast Club

During the Fall and Winter semesters, the Guelph Student FoodBank normally partners with UFWH to bring you the Breakfast Club, a once-weekly offering of breakfast items such as coffee, tea, english muffins, yogurt, fruit, and other snacks.

→ This program is currently suspended; please check back for updates.

Cooking Classes

During the Fall and Winter Semesters, we organized virtual cooking classes, which included food support in the form of the purchase of required ingredients. Follow us on Facebook for updates about future cooking classes!

Some of our past classes included:

  • Sweet Potato Buddha Bowls
  • Black Bean Burritos and Energy Balls
  • Spiced Chickpea Stew with Rice
  • Vegetarian Nachos and Mocktails
  • Vegetarian Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

Community Garden

In the 2013-2014 academic year, we received the Gordon Nixon Leadership Award, which funds initiatives that promote student engagement and leadership. We used this funding to create the FoodBank Garden; 10 garden beds in the greenspace adjacent to the parking lot.

Since its creation, we have grown a variety of fruits and vegetables, such as: hot peppers, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, beans, peas, kale, mint, basil and raspberries. Under normal circumstances, we would highly encourage the participation of volunteers, but we are subject to COVID-19 restrictions at this time.

Garden Fresh Box

The Garden Fresh Box program has been suspended for the time being as The SEED, our partner organization in providing this service, is focussing on home delivery.

Please visit The SEED for more information on their programming and services.
